Ansley Park

Ansley Park

As its name suggests, Ansley Park is one of Atlanta’s greenest neighborhoods—bordering Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Botanical Garden to the south, and the ritzy, 9-hole Ansley Golf Club to the north. In the middle, you’ll find a lovely belt of greenspaces, thanks to Ansley, Winn and McClatchy Parks.

In 1905, Edwin P. Ansley set out to lure buyers away from Atlanta’s most fashionable neighborhood, Inman Park. His Ansley Park would have wide, winding streets so that visitors could admire its Colonials, Tudors and Prairie School bungalows from the comfort of their automobiles. Needless to say, the plan worked. Ansley’s own home even served as the Governor’s Mansion for several decades, and many of AP’s homes enjoy historic status today.

Residents of Ansley can walk to the shops and restaurants of Midtown’s Colony Square Mall, as well as Ansley Mall—one of the city’s first. Here, you’ll find the spectacular lunch spot, Bantam & Biddy, along with Neopolitan pizza at Varuni Napoli and live music at Smith’s Olde Bar. If brews are your thing, you can always stroll on over to Orpheus Brewing, a paradise of sour beers, or The Nook for prime patio views of Piedmont Park.
