Through lean years of suburban flight, Virginia-Highland proudly stayed its course—historic, welcoming, and beautiful. Named for the intersection of Virginia Avenue and North Highland, VaHi took off in the 1890s when it became a streetcar suburb for the famous Nine Mile Trolley.
